Pheple FCU and Valley-wide of PA FCU

On February 28, 2025, members of Valley-Wide of PA FCU will vote on a merger between Valley-Wide of PA and Pheple FCU. For information on the merger and voting process, or to get your ballot, please refer to the packet that was mailed in January 2025, or call Valley-Wide of PA FCU at (724) 226-1664.

If the vote is approved, on April 1, 2025, Valley-Wide of PA Federal Credit Union will become part of Pheple Federal Credit Union. We are excited to welcome you to Pheple FCU. On this page, you can find the information you need to make this a smooth transition. We will also send information via mail. Frequently asked questions

    • What will the effective date of the merger be? If the merger is approved at the membership vote on February 28, 2025, the effective date of the merger will be April 1, 2025. The two credit unions will merge their financial records, our charter will end, and our credit union will become Pheple Federal Credit Union.

    • What changes will occur after the merger on April 1, 2025? Once the merger takes place on April 1, 2025, all Valley-Wide of PA FCU members will automatically become members of Pheple and be entitled to all benefits and solutions offered by Pheple.

    • What will happen to the employee(s) of Valley-Wide of PA Federal Credit Union? They will become employee(s) of Pheple. 

    • Will our Valley-Wide of PA FCU branch remain open? Yes, the office location at 209 East 5th Avenue, Tarentum, PA will remain open at the time of the merger.

    • I have accounts at Pheple Federal Credit Union and Valley-Wide of PA Federal Credit Union. Will my two accounts be merged into one account? No. Pheple Federal Credit Union won’t automatically merge any Valley-Wide of PA Federal Credit Union accounts into existing Pheple accounts. After the merger on April 1, 2025, you’ll have two separate Pheple accounts. If you’d like to combine the accounts into one, please contact Pheple after the merger and they’ll be happy to combine them.

    • What is the par value for Pheple FCU? The par value for Pheple Federal Credit Union is $5.

    • Will I keep the same member/account number? Your member number will be adjusted by adding a prefix of 111 to your current Valley-Wide of PA member number. You will receive a newsletter prior to the merge date with full information. 

    • Will I have online access to my account? Yes; you will need to register for online access through Pheple FCU Online Banking at www.pheplefcu.org. You will receive a welcome newsletter prior to the merge date with full instructions.

    • Will I have access to a Mobile App? Yes. The Pheple FCU Mobile App is available for Apple and Android devices. You will need to download the app and use your new login information to access it. The app includes Snap Deposit remote check deposit and all features of Online Banking such as Bill Pay and Card Control, right from the palm of your hand. 

    • What will happen to my Valley-Wide of PA loan? After the data conversion on April 1, 2025, loan balances that you have with Valley-Wide of PA FCU will transfer directly to Pheple, with the current loan balance and at the original term and rate. Your loan activity will then be reported to the Credit Bureaus at the end of April by Pheple. Pheple does require that a loan payment be made every month while a loan balance exists.

    • What will happen to my direct deposit? Existing direct deposits will continue as is. 

    • What will happen to my current recurring ACH payments? Pheple will still be able to honor the current recurring ACH payments that you have set up, however future payments will need to be set up with your new Pheple FCU routing and account number. 

    • How will I be able to make loan payments? Pheple offers several different loan payment options, including: online at pheplefcu.org/make-a-payment, in Online Banking or the Mobile App, at any Pheple FCU branch, or via mail with payment coupons. 

 

Your new member number

Your member number will be adjusted to make it 6 or 7 digits long by adding a prefix of 111. For example:

  • If your current member number is 123 (3 digits long), your new member number will be 111123 (6 digits long).

  • If your current member number is 1234 (4 digits long), your new member number will be 1111234 (7 digits long).

If you have any questions about your new member number, please call the branch at (724) 226-1664. You will need your new member number to activate Online Banking and the Mobile App. 

 

Online Banking & Mobile App

To access Pheple FCU Online Banking or Mobile App for the first time:

  1. Click the “Online Banking Login” button at the top of any page on our website: pheplefcu.org, or search “Pheple FCU” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  2. Use the following username and password:
    username:  your member  number (see above)
    password: the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN) and the 4 digit year you were born, for example: if your SSN is 123-45-6789 and your birthday is 01/01/1980, your temporary password is 67891980)

  3. Follow the instructions to set up a permanent password and security questions.
    Important: You will need to answer one security question each time you log into Online Banking, so please make sure you know your answers.

  4. When you see your accounts listed, you are in!

Helpful hint:  A strong password is one that is at least eight characters with a combination of upper and lower case letters, numeric characters, and special characters.
