Welcome to Pheple FCU

On September 30, 2024, Latrobe Area Hospital Federal Credit Union will become part of Pheple Federal Credit Union. We are excited to welcome you to Pheple FCU. On this page, you can find the information you need to make this a smooth transition. We have also been sending information via mail. If you have any questions about the merger, please take some time to read our Frequently Asked Questions below, or contact the Latrobe Hospital branch at (724) 539-8820.

 

Dates to know

Mid-August

  • Loan Accounts: If you currently have credit insurance on an LAHFCU loan, you have received a notice to select new payment protection. Please return by September 30 to ensure continuous coverage. If we don’t hear from you, a reminder notice will be sent in mid-September.

Mid-September

  • Credit Cards: You will receive a mailing regarding your credit card account. You must follow the instructions to redeem ScoreCard Rewards by December 4.

  • Debit Cards: If you currently have a LAHFCU debit card, you will receive a Pheple FCU debit card via mail. Do not activate your new card until October 1. Continue using your LAHFCU debit card.

September 25

  • Bill Pay: This is the last day to process a Bill Pay payment with LAHFCU. You must print or write down your current payee information, including names, addresses, and account numbers, as this information will not transfer.

September 26

  • Credit Cards: This is the last day to make a payment on your LAHFCU credit card. Your first credit card payment at Pheple FCU will be due on October 28.

September 27

  • Remote Deposit: This is the last day to process a remote check deposit in the LAHFCU Mobile App. Snap Deposit, our instant-availability remote check deposit service, will be available in your new Pheple FCU Mobile App.

September 30

  • LAHFCU will close at noon to prepare for the merger. All Pheple FCU offices will close at 4pm.

  • LAHFCU Online Banking and Mobile App will not be available after noon.

  • Debit Cards: Your LAHFCU debit card will be deactivated at noon. Please plan ahead and have alternate payment methods on hand. 

October 1

  • The Latrobe Hospital branch will reopen as Pheple FCU and you will officially be a member of Pheple.

  • Bonus Dividend: In appreciation of your loyalty, the Board of Directors of LAHFCU is distributing a $75.00 bonus dividend. This will be deposited to the share savings account of all members who joined prior to September 1, 2024.

  • Online Banking: You will be able to sign into Pheple FCU Online Banking and Mobile App to view your accounts. See below for first-time log-in instructions.

  • Debit Cards: Activate your Pheple FCU debit card by calling (833) 990-0751. 

October 4

  • Credit Cards: Your LAHFCU Visa Credit Card will deactivate. 

Week of October 7

  • Credit Cards: Your new Pheple FCU Visa Credit Card will arrive and be ready to activate and use immediately.

 

Your new member number

Your member number will be adjusted to make it 8 digits long by adding a 9 and several zeros at the beginning of it. For example:

  • If your current member number is 123 (3 digits long), your new member number will be 90000123.

  • If your current member number is 1234 (4 digits long), your new member number will be 90001234.

  • If your current member number is 12345 (5 digits long), your new member number will be 90012345.

If you have any questions about your new member number, please call the Latrobe branch at (724) 539-8820. You will need your new member number to activate Online Banking and the Mobile App. 

 

Online Banking & Mobile App

To access Pheple FCU Online Banking or Mobile App for the first time:

  1. Click the “Online Banking Login” button at the top of any page on our website: pheplefcu.org, or search “Pheple FCU” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  2. Use the following username and password:
    username:  your member  number (see above)
    password: the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN) and the 4 digit year you were born, for example: if your SSN is 123-45-6789 and your birthday is 01/01/1980, your temporary password is 67891980)

  3. Follow the instructions to set up a permanent password and security questions.
    Important: You will need to answer one security question each time you log into Online Banking, so please make sure you know your answers.

  4. When you see your accounts listed, you are in!

Helpful hint:  A strong password is one that is at least eight characters with a combination of upper and lower case letters, numeric characters, and special characters. 

 

Need to Know: Debit Cards

You will receive a new Pheple FCU Debit Card in mid-September.

Please continue to use your LAHFCU debit card until noon on September 30. 

On or after October 1, call (833) 990-0751 to activate and begin using your new Pheple FCU Visa Debit Card.

What to expect 

  • Your LAHFCU Visa Credit Card will deactivate on October 4. 

  • Your Pheple FCU Visa Credit Card will arrive by mail the week of October 7 and will be ready to activate and use immediately. 

  • Your first credit card payment at Pheple FCU will be due on October 28. We have several easy payment options: 

    • Online Pheple FCU Online Banking at pheplefcu.org. 

    • By mail Pheple FCU 708 State Route 119 Greensburg, PA 15601 

    • In Person at any branch location 

Things to know 

  • Your interest rate will not change. 

  • Your card number will change, along with the expiration date and CVV number. You will need to update any recurring payments with this new information. 

  • You will have access to your credit card account through Pheple FCU Online Banking and Mobile App. You can easily see transaction history, make payments, access cash advances, and even temporarily turn off your card through Card Control. Online Banking login instructions will be included in a Welcome Newsletter and mailed to you before the merger. 

  • Your new Pheple FCU Visa Credit Card has no annual fee, no cash advance fee, and no balance transfer fee. Click here for full terms. 

IMPORTANT for ScoreCard Reward Members: 

Your bonus points program ends on October 4, 2024. You have until December 4, 2024 to redeem your points for merchandise and travel. Visit www. ScoreCardRewards.com or call 800-854-0790 to redeem today! Points not redeemed by December 4, 2024 will be forfeited.

Frequently asked questions

    • What will the effective date of the merger be? The effective date of the merger will be September 30, 2024. The two credit unions will merge their financial records, LAHFCU’s charter will end, and LAHFCU will become Pheple Federal Credit Union.

    • What changes will occur after the merger on September 30, 2024? Once the merger takes place on September 30, 2024, all LAHFCU members will automatically become members of Pheple and be entitled to all benefits and solutions offered by Pheple.

    • What will happen to the employees of Latrobe Area Hospital Federal Credit Union? They will become employees of Pheple.

    • Will par value be adjusted? The par value for Latrobe Area Hospital Federal Credit Union is $5 and the par value for Pheple Federal Credit Union is $5. The par value will remain $5 for the members of the merged credit union.

    • Will our LAHFCU branch remain open? The branch will remain open for at least 5 years, as long as the lease agreement remains in effect. LAHFCU members will also gain access to Pheple’s four branches located in Westmoreland County. 

    • I have accounts at Pheple Federal Credit Union and Latrobe Area Hospital Federal Credit Union. Will my two accounts be merged into one account? No. Pheple Federal Credit Union won’t automatically merge any Latrobe Area Hospital Federal Credit Union accounts into existing Pheple accounts. After September 30, you’ll have two separate Pheple accounts. If you’d like to combine the accounts into one, please contact Pheple after the merger and they’ll be happy to combine them.

    • Will I keep the same member/account number? Your member number will be adjusted to make it 8 digits long by adding a 9 and several zeros at the beginning of it.

    • Will I still have online access to my account? Yes, but you will need to re-register for online access through Pheple FCU Online Banking at www.pheplefcu.org.

    • Will I still have access to a Mobile App? Yes. The Pheple FCU Mobile App is available for Apple and Android devices. You will need to download the app and use your new login information to access it. The app includes Snap Deposit remote check deposit and all features of Online Banking such as Bill Pay and Card Control, right from the palm of your hand. 

    • What will happen to my LAHFCU loan? After September 30, loan balances that you have with LAHFCU will transfer directly to Pheple, with the current loan balance and at the original term and rate. Your loan activity will then be reported to the Credit Bureaus at the end of October by Pheple.

    • What will happen to my LAHFCU debit card? You will receive a new Pheple FCU Visa Debit Card in mid-September via mail. We expect an approximately 24 hour period between your LAHFCU debit card deactivating and your new Pheple FCU debit card starting to work and ask for you to plan appropriately by having cash or an alternate payment method on hand from noon on Monday, September 30, to midday on Tuesday, October 1. More detailed activation instructions will be included with your Pheple FCU debit card. Pheple FCU offers surcharge-free ATMs at its own branches and the Westmoreland County Courthouse, as well as nationwide through the PNC and CU$ networks.

    • What will happen to my LAHFCU credit card? You will receive a new Pheple FCU Visa Credit Card during the week of October 7. Your LAHFCU credit card will deactivate on October 4; we ask you that plan for a short time period that you will not be able to access your credit card account. Your current rate will be honored. Payments will be due on the 28th of each month. 

    • What will happen to my direct deposit? Existing direct deposits will continue as is. 

    • What will happen to my current checks? Pheple will still be able to honor the checks you currently have on your LAHFCU checking account, however when it is time for you to order new checks, they will need to be updated with your Pheple FCU routing and account number. 

    • What will happen to my current recurring ACH payments? Pheple will still be able to honor the current recurring ACH payments that you have set up, however future payments will need to be set up with your new Pheple FCU routing and account number. 

    • What will happen to my current Bill Pay payments and accounts? The last day to make payments through LAHFCU Bill Pay is September 25. It is important that you print or write down your current payee information before that date., including names, addresses, and account numbers, as this information will not transfer over. On or after October 1, you will need to enroll in Pheple FCU Bill Pay through Online Banking or the Mobile App. You will need to re-add your Bill Pay payees.

    • How will I be able to make loan payments? Pheple offers several different loan payment options, including: online at pheplefcu.org/make-a-payment, in Online Banking or the Mobile App, at any Pheple FCU branch, or via mail with payment coupons. Your loan due date will not change.
